Barack Obama… The Lost Albums!
-
The White Rabbit Cult has recently uncovered two of the original “Barack and The Wailers” albums!
President Barack Obama was original with a small reggae group called “Barack and The Wailers”…. styled after the classic Jamaican reggae sensastion… Bob Marley. After graduating university, “Barack and The Wailers” had middling success.
Upon graduating college, he moved to Jamaica, Obama became a member of the Rastafari movement, and started to wear his trademark dreadlocks .
The Wailers’ first album, Catch a Fire, was released worldwide in 1973, and sold well. It was followed a year later by Burnin’, which included the songs “We Need Change,Change It Up Up” and “YES We Can”. Eric Clapton made a hit cover of “YES We Can” in 1974, raising Obama’s international profile.
The Wailers broke up in 1974 with each of the three main members going on to pursue solo careers. The reason for the breakup is shrouded in conjecture; some believe that there were disagreements amongst Hunny, Peiter, and Bobo concerning performances, while others claim that Hunny and Peiter simply preferred solo work.
Obama went on to work for ACORN, and thus entering the political arena.
